Washbacks are baby sea turtles that “wash back” to the beach after fall storms and strong ocean currents push them back to shore. These hatchlings use all of their energy for that first big swim out to the line of sargassum seaweed that is over 50-100 miles offshore, and need extra help to survive!
Please help us reach our goal of naming 200 tiny washback turtles by making a gift to the Whitney Labs Sea Turtle Hospital by October 31. When you make a gift of $20 or more, you will be able to symbolically adopt and name a tiny washback turtle.
When you donate, you will receive a personalized washback adoption certificate within one business day of your donation via email. Your turtle support keeps the Sea Turtle Hospital and our turtles going strong!

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATE?
Once you complete your transaction, you will receive an email to the email address you specify with a PDF certificate attachment within one business day.
IS THERE A MINIMUM GIFT AMOUNT?
Yes, you must make a gift of $20 or more to symbolically adopt a washback and receive a personalized certificate.
CAN I SYMBOLICALLY ADOPT MULTIPLE WASHBACKS?
Yes, but only if you make multiple transactions. Only one washback certificate will be emailed per transaction. If you'd like to make a larger gift for more adoptions please contact Ellie Padgett at elliepadgett@whitney.ufl.edu
WILL MY CONTRIBUTION BE TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Yes, you will receive a tax receipt via email after you make a gift.
